Avatar Racist?

Posted on: February 5, 2010

As a black woman I have been in many situations that at the end leave me wondering did that happen because I was black? I try not to dwell on these things and get caught up in hysteria. To be quite frank deep down I am a Hippie! I love all people. I do believe that assholes and jerks come in all races and sexes regardless there has been much hype over Avatar being a racist movie. I am sorry I just don’t agree with it,I think there are  some tones and themes in the movie that have represented racist things that have happened in our culture so it is relatable but thats about it. Thats just my 2 cents take a look at this article and share your thoughts http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/02/04/james-camerons-avatar-is-many-things-but-not-racist/

There are members of the various minority groups – albeit more among Blacks than other minorities – who would see anything involving a White protagonist as racist.

It’s just the way that they are, must be expected, and should be discounted.

Don’t let it concern you.

exactly! to each his own! It sucks that the things they should connect us and show us how similar we are, are the same things that divide us.

Sadly, those things which truly connect us and show us how similar we are, irrespective of race, creed, or ethnicity, are our baser instincts and drives. 😦

Such are not, however, the things that can bring us together except in temporary alliance against a 3rd party.

You are so right! Maybe one day people will take the time to focus on what’s really important. Too bad they had a great example shown to them and missed it completely. I guess we have to keep trying!
